Inability to Upload Files Due to Network Restrictions

Troubleshooting Network Restrictions When Uploading Files

If you're experiencing issues uploading files to our application while connected to a Wi-Fi network or mobile data in secure areas such as schools, hospitals, or government offices, the network may be subject to certain restrictions. These environments often enforce strict controls to protect their systems, which can limit access to certain applications or prevent file uploads altogether.

Why this Happens: Secure areas often use web traffic filtering and application whitelisting to block or limit access to websites and services. If our application isn’t on their list of approved services, you might not be able to upload files or use specific features. These restrictions are typically in place to ensure compliance with privacy, security, and network policies.

Solutions:

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Switch to a Different Wi-Fi Network:

    • Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network that doesn't have strict filtering policies. For example, your home network or a trusted public Wi-Fi may not have the same restrictions as those found in secure environments.
    • Ensure that the network you're switching to allows file uploads and doesn’t have firewalls or filters blocking access to certain applications.
  2. Disable Wi-Fi and Use Mobile Data:

    • If you're on a phone, try turning off the Wi-Fi and switching to your mobile provider's data connection. Mobile networks often have fewer restrictions compared to institutional Wi-Fi networks, which may resolve the issue.
  3. Use Your Phone as a Mobile Hotspot:

    • If you're on a computer, consider using your phone as a mobile hotspot. This way, your computer can connect to the phone's mobile data connection, bypassing any restrictions on the local Wi-Fi network.
    • Most smartphones have a built-in hotspot feature that allows you to share your mobile data connection with nearby devices. Be mindful of your data plan limits if you decide to use this method.
  4. Check with the Network Administrator:

    • In some cases, you may need to contact the network administrator of the restricted Wi-Fi network to check if they can allow access to our application. If this is an option, provide them with the necessary information about the application to be whitelisted.

Summary: If you find yourself unable to upload files while connected to a restricted Wi-Fi network in a secure environment, consider switching to a different Wi-Fi network, using mobile data, or setting up your phone as a hotspot. These steps should help you bypass network restrictions and allow file uploads.
