Connect ➡️ Add Patient Portal ➡️ Search ➡️ Connect 🙌
Integrating patient portals into Primary Record is a crucial step towards better organization. Instead of manually inputting extensive lists of medications, conditions, and allergies for each family member, Primary Record streamlines the process by downloading the health data from multiple patient portals. This allows for easy bulk editing to ensure each individual's accurate and comprehensive health profile.
Let's walk through how to download health data out of a patient portal into Primary Record:
- Go to Profiles and select the profile you want to connect.
- Click on the Connect tab.
- Select the "Connect" button.
- Type in the name of your health system (not the specific hospital). For example, if you want to link to Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, search for Community Health Network.
- If you can't find your health system, just let us know! Some places still need to learn how to share information properly.
- Once you find the correct health system, click it!
- Log in like you usually do for your patient portal.
- The steps from here might change depending on your hospital's system but are usually straightforward. In EPIC (MyChart), they look like this:
- For patient portals requesting a timeframe for access, we advise clicking any time frame greater than 1 day.
- After connecting to download, Primary Record can take up to 3 hours to organize the health data. But you should see things beginning to populate within seconds!
- Next steps: Bulk edit your way to make an accurate Primary Record ready to share when you need to share your heath story
