Why is sharing important to families?
Working with families caring for others, you learn quickly that supporting a family member facing a complex or life-altering diagnosis takes a village. This is why a Profile Organizer of a Medical Profile has the control to invite those who can view or help keep the medical information updated.
What are the steps to invite Collaborators around a Medical Profile?
- Click on Profiles
- Select the Medical Profile for which you want to invite a collaborator.
- Navigate to Manage.
- Click +Add or Invite User
- Complete the information to Invite Collaborator
- Review Access to check all items you want the Collaborator to Access or see. Select those items you want a Collaborator’s help to Edit, which means they can help keep the information updated and add notes. ***These are not prechecked by default***
- Check that you have permission and right to share access with the Collaborator
- Click Save and Share

Who is the best kind of Collaborator to invite?
As a Profile Organizer, you deserve support! In Primary Record, we encourage Profile Organizers to invite trusted family members, friends, advocates, and community navigators. You can define permissions of Collaborators by giving the right to just Access or view certain parts the Medical Profile or select the ability to Edit to keep the medical story accurate. You know your village best.
When you Save and Share, the invited Collaborator is sent an email from Primary Record Support letting them know they have been invited to Collaborate around the Medical Profile. We give them instructions on getting onto Primary Record to accept your invitation.
